In a season when ministry demands continue to shift and stretch leaders in new ways, the need for wholeness, support, and ongoing learning is more important than ever. Palmer Plus is an online platform created to nurture and support ministry leaders through the Flourishing Leader Project (FLP), a signature ministry of CARES at Palmer Theological Seminary & College. By helping leaders minister from a place of spiritual and emotional health, FLP seeks to cultivate the flourishing of the self, the Church, and the world. Through thoughtful learning experiences and practical resources, this initiative makes theological education and ministry support more accessible to alumni, church leaders, and the wider community.
The platform currently includes 14 virtual workshops and courses focused on leadership, spiritual formation, preaching, youth, and practical ministry. Among our newest offerings are: a 12-hour non-degree workshop on Faith & Justice, as well as Partners in Ministry: Leading Together with Your Spouse, designed to support the unique dynamics of clergy couples. In addition to courses, Palmer Plus also offers virtual retreats and connections to trusted care providers, including Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC), Pastoral Counselors, LMFTs, and certified life coaches.
To support leaders navigating today’s challenges, the platform also features conversations with practitioners and scholars on topics such as “Disability and God’s Word” and “Mental Health in the Church.” Whether you are looking for professional development, spiritual renewal, or practical tools for ministry, Palmer Plus is here to walk alongside you. Visit palmer.thinkific.com to explore current offerings and learn more.
We extend a special invitation to ministry leaders to encourage those within your church community who sense a call to grow in their ministry leadership to enroll. Palmer Theological Seminary provides accessible, practical resources that you can extend to associate ministers, lay leaders, youth workers, and emerging leaders within your congregation.
Discounted rates are available for Palmer alumni, current students, and partner organizations. We are committed to ensuring that cost is not a barrier to growth and development.
We also invite clergy and ministry leaders to collaborate with us. Consider inviting us to visit your church or ministry context for networking and partnership opportunities. For collaboration inquiries or questions, please contact us at cares@eastern.edu.
Finally, we welcome your input. If there are topics or ministry areas you would like to see addressed on the platform, we encourage you to share your ideas. Palmer Plus exists to serve the Church—and we look forward to continuing this journey of flourishing together.
