Palmer Theological Seminary is delighted to announce the upcoming launch of the Foundations of Theological Education Certificate in May 2025. This part-time, graduate-level program takes just 9 months to complete. Students earn 12 credits that can be applied to an MDiv or MTS degree at the seminary.
Palmer designed the Foundations in Theological Education Certificate in response to barriers to seminary education. Many lay leaders, spiritual seekers, and other community change-makers have a desire to learn how the bible, history, and theology can help them address society’s most pressing issues. However, to some, theological education appears too costly, and the length of time to complete a degree feels intimidating. Palmer created a program to equip working professionals, for whom seminary is not a prerequisite, with the basics of theological education to enhance their ministry and justice-seeking pursuits.
The Foundations in Theological Education Certificate continues Palmer’s 100-year legacy of forming transformative leaders. Through robust, theological reflection and life-changing spiritual growth, the program will equip students to take the first steps into ministry. They will explore how faith can be integrated into their current vocation and be encouraged to take THE WHOLE GOSPEL TO THE WHOLE WORLD THROUGH WHOLE PERSONS.
The application and additional details regarding this exciting new certificate will be live on May 7th – be sure to check in for more information!
