As a recent graduate of Palmer Theological Seminary and current Alumni Ambassador, the June 2026 Palmer Alumni Party, organized by Palmer’s CARES team, was both encouraging and inspiring. The evening provided a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with fellow alumni, faculty, and ministry leaders while reflecting on the calling that unites us in service to Christ, the Church, and our communities.
The highlight of the event was the lecture by Rev. Dr. Adetokunbo Adelekan on "Servant Leadership: Signs and Seasons." Dr. Adelekan offered a thoughtful and timely exploration of leadership through the lens of service, reminding us that effective ministry leadership is not defined by position or authority, but by humility, faithfulness, and a willingness to serve others. His reflections on the different seasons of leadership resonated deeply, particularly as many of us navigate transitions, new opportunities, and evolving ministry contexts. What stood out most for me was the reminder that servant leadership requires discernment: understanding the season God currently has us in and responding with wisdom, courage, and dependence on Him. Dr. Adelekan challenged us to lead with integrity, remain grounded in our calling, and embrace both the opportunities and challenges that accompany faithful ministry.
Beyond the lecture, the event fostered meaningful conversations and renewed connections within the Palmer community. It was a powerful reminder that while our ministry contexts may differ, we share a common mission to serve God's people and advance His Kingdom.
I left the evening encouraged, challenged, and grateful for the ongoing impact of Palmer Seminary and its commitment to equipping leaders to share the whole gospel, to the whole world, through whole persons.
