Mary Johnson

Administrative Coordinator, Prison Education Program and Palmer’s Dean’s Office


Mary Johnson serves as the Administrative Coordinator of both the Prison Education Program and Palmer’s Dean’s Office. As a recent graduate of Eastern University, she studied special education and sociology. Mary was a part of the Prison Education Advisory Team (PEAT), Prison Ministry, and Chamberlain Interfaith Fellowship during her time at Eastern. Upon graduating, Mary received the College of Education Undergraduate Student Leadership and Service Award, awarded to students with high academic achievements who demonstrate leadership through service and advocacy in the Eastern University community, local schools, professional organizations and faith institutions. Following graduation, Mary served as a teaching assistant and administrative assistant, helping students expand their academic progress and confidence in the classroom. As the Prison Education Program Administrative Coordinator, she aims to both bring and receive inquisitive questions, powerful insights, and new opportunities to academic experiences at SCI Chester. At Palmer, she assists with special events and managing space at the City Avenue location. In her free time, Mary enjoys writing, meeting new people, and exploring new places.
