The Reverend Dr. Charles L. McNeil, Sr. is the current pastor of the Grace Temple Baptist Church of Lawnside, New Jersey. Prior to Grace Temple, Dr. McNeil served as the Pastor of the Transfiguration Baptist Church and President of Manna Bible Institute. For 25 years, he worked for Eastern University and Palmer Theological Seminary in various administrative roles. He also served as the President of African American Interdenominational Ministries (AAIM); Treasurer for the Black Clergy of Philadelphia and Vicinity; and a cabinet member for the Pennsylvania Eastern Keystone Baptist Association (PEKBA). Dr. McNeil is a founding member of NewCORE (A New Conversation on Race and Ethnicity), a vice president and instructor in the Bethany Baptist School of Biblical Studies, an advisory board member for Palmer Theological Seminary, and Chair of the Grace Temple Community Development Corporation. He has taught and lectured in both the degree and non-degree programs at Palmer Seminary, and is known as a community-minded pastor. Dr. McNeil earned both a Doctor of Ministry Degree and a Master of Divinity Degree from Palmer Theological Seminary, a bachelor’s degree from Eastern University, and an associate degree from the Art Institute of Philadelphia. He and his wife, Dr. Angela, have been married for over 30 years and together they have three grown children. His life’s scripture is Psalm 133:1, “O’ how good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!”
