Educational Effectiveness

Palmer Seminary's mission is to preach the whole gospel to the whole world through whole persons. To realize this mission, the seminary is dedicated to educational excellence and has developed a culture of assessment to assure its attainment. 

While the entire seminary community collaborates in the creation of this culture, the value of this educational assessment data inheres in the articulation of clearly defined student learning assessment outcomes and benchmarks by the Seminary faculty. Assessment plans end-of-the-year Student Learning Assessment reports are submitted to the Office of Institutional Planning, Research, and Assessment of Eastern University in June every year. For the 2017-2018 academic year, 100 percent of the reported programmatic student learning assessment benchmarks for the Master of Divinity and traditional Master of Theological Studies programs were met or exceeded.
