Professor Ron Sider Appears on Bill Moyers' The Journal

ronsiderPalmer professor Ron Sider and the organization he founded and leads, Evangelicals for Social Action, have been at the forefront of a major political effort to bring about a peaceful, two-state solution for Israel-Palestine. Professor Sider's latest opportunity to promote his views came with a recent appearance on Bill Moyers' The Journal.

In October, Dr. Sider was part of small delegation of evangelical leaders who met with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Sider said of the meeting, "I am convinced that Secretary Rice is investing her very best resources and efforts to move the dialogue forward to a just, permanent two-state solution. She needs our prayers and our vigorous support."

On The Journal, which aired November 30, Sider had the opportunity to refute the organization Christians United for Israel, which has opposed efforts to work toward a two-state solution. ESA has led the way in the development of the new "Evangelical Statement on Israel/Palestine," signed by dozens of evangelical leaders.
