Rev. Dr. Marvin McMickle, President of Colgate Rochester Divinity School in Rochester, NY, will serve as Palmer Seminary of Eastern University's 2013 Mitchell Lecturer. The lecture, scheduled for Monday, February 18, will be held at Monumental Baptist Church in Philadelphia. The lecture program will begin at 10 a.m., concluding with a discussion time. As in the past, the program will be followed by the annual Mitchell Luncheon, scheduled for 12:15. The day continues with an afternoon worship service--Dr. McMickle preaching--concluding at 4 p.m.

Prior to becoming President at Colgate Rochester, Dr. McMickle served for more than two decades as the pastor of Antioch Baptist Church on Cleveland's East Side. In addition to the presidency at Colgate Rochester, Dr. McMickle holds faculty status as Professor of Church Leadership. He is also Director of Colgate Rochester's Program of Black Church Studies.

Monumental Baptist Church is located at 50th and Locust Streets in Philadelphia.

The Seminary's Mitchell Lecture is held annually in honor of the late Frank B. Mitchell, who during his long tenure as pastor at Pinn Memorial Baptist Church in Philadelphia was a faithful mentor to seminary students.
