At the July 29-31 conference of Christians for Biblical Equality (CBE) in Seattle, Kristyn Komarnicki, editor of Evangelicals for Social Action's PRISM magazine, will receive CBE's Micah Award, which honors "those who exhibit courage, creativity, and tenacity in opposing abuse and advancing justice for women and children in Christ's name."
Komarnicki will be presenting two workshops at the three-day event. Her co-presenter, Lisa Thompson of the Salvation Army's Initiative Against Sexual Trafficking, is also receiving a Micah Award.
This same award was presented in 2008 to ESA Founder and President (and Palmer Seminary theology professor) Ron Sider and his spouse, Arbutus. Evangelicals for Social Action operates under the Palmer Seminary/Eastern University umbrella.
Speakers at the CBE conference in Seattle include former Seminary president Manfred T. Brauch.
