Dr. George Hancock-Stefan has taught Baptist history and polity at Princeton Theological Seminary, as well as courses in theology and
church history at New York Evangelical Seminary and Wheaton College Graduate School.

An American Baptist Churches pastor, George served for 16 years as pastor of Central Baptist Church in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey. Prior to that he served as Minister of Christian Education at First Baptist Church of Hightstown, NJ, and as pastor of the bilingual Lakeview Baptist Church in Chicago.

From 1982 to 1989, George was executive director of the Romanian Missionary Society, Wheaton, IL. His work included developing weekly radio programs (in the Romanian language) broadcast in Romania, serving as theological editor of more than 30 books, and preaching at churches throughout Eastern Europe.

His academic endeavors include the presentation of the paper "Baptists and the Wall of Separation between Church and State" at the 2006 meeting of the Evangelical Theological Society. His doctoral dissertation, The Impact of the Reformation on the Romanian People from 1517-1645, was translated into Romanian in 2003 and is being used as a seminary textbook. He is also one of the contributors to the book Three Views on Eastern Orthodoxy and Evangelism, published by Zondervan.
