Palmer Seminary of Eastern University relishes the opportunity to welcome men and women to our campus so they can learn more about our values, our programs, and what they can expect to experience as part of the Palmer community.
We typically host two Open Houses each year: one in the spring and one in the fall. The next Open House is scheduled for Thursday evening, April 19, from 6 to 9 p.m. Please note that this is not a drop-in event, but an entire evening program. We begin with a light meal at 6 p.m., followed by a brief time of worship at 6:30. Then visitors will have the opportunity to hear from current students and administrators and to attend information sessions. For these information sessions, Open House guests divide into groups based on whether they are interested in our Masters degree programs (including our new MTS Openseminary Blended Online program), Priscilla Institute, Eastern's School of Christian Ministry (ESCM, diploma and certificate program), or our Doctor of Ministry program in Leadership of Missional Church Renewal. The sessons cover topics such as cost, program design, financial aid, and more.
Guests also have the opportunity to sit in (for about 45 minutes) on a class or to attend a seminar on exploring a call to ministry. Options on April 19 include classes on the General Epistles, Prophetic Preaching, Pastoral Care and Counseling, and the course "Theology and a Movie." Those coming from far away have access to overnight housing at the Seminary. (Please let us know if you need this.)
People who have attended our Open Houses in the past typically leave not just with a better understanding of Palmer Seminary, but feeling inspired and more clear about God's direction in their lives. To register for an Open House, simply call 484-384-2948. Or e-mail us at semadmis@eastern.edu and provide your contact information. Please specify the program(s) in which you are interested. And remember you are welcome to visit us anytime!
