International Admissions

The Palmer Theological Seminary accepts international students into its graduate degree programs in keeping with its motto of "The Whole Gospel for the Whole World through Whole Persons." Because a student's theological training for ministry is best undertaken in the context where the student's ministry will be exercised, Palmer Theological Seminary encourages international students to first investigate the seminaries or theological colleges in their own country. If Palmer Theological Seminary remains the best option, the following eligibility criteria must be met for application.

  • The applicant must be a graduate of a recognized/accredited college or university with a 4-year undergraduate degree, such as a Bachelor of Arts, or its equivalent.
  • The applicant must meet the standards of English proficiency. A minimum TOEFL score of 213 (computer) or 550 (paper) is required. Information regarding the TOEFL can be found at www.ets.org.
  • Palmer Theological Seminary does not offer full scholarships. The applicant must be able to verify sufficient finances to pay for academic expenses and living expenses. A limited number of partial tuition scholarship are available for qualifying international students. Most students also depend on financial support from sponsoring individuals or church agencies.

For more details on international admission requirements and policies, you may download the International Policy Statement.

If you feel you meet these requirements, and decide to apply, we encourage you to download the International Application Checklist, as a guide to the international admissions process.
