Thank you for your interest in Palmer Theological Seminary. I wonder sometimes what it is that people who visit our website are expecting to find. Jesus wondered this same thing about the people whose search had taken them to the wilderness to see John the Baptist. They found in John someone who had a divine calling as a messenger.
Let me tell you what you will find at Palmer. You will find in the people and programs here a John-like passion for a message about Jesus. It is a message first declared by the Lord himself in Luke 4:18: The Spirit of the Lord is upon me and has anointed me to preach good news to the poor, heal the bruised and brokenhearted, set free the captives and oppressed, and restore sight to the blind. You will also find here a commitment to spiritual formation that integrates contemplation, action, and community.
The faculty and student body at Palmer are as diverse as the society we are called to transform. But we share a common vocation of being scholar-activists. What does this mean for you if Palmer is the place where your own search continues? I look forward to hearing the answer someday soon.
Blessings,
