Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply for a computer account?
Your University login information allows you to login to Blackboard among other things. Your login information gives access to Seminary e-mail, Blackboard, Library databases. Accessing grades with your EU account will be possible soon. If you have lost or forgotten your account information, you may obtain it in person from the Registrar or the Blackboard Administrator (second floor above the Library). If you need to get it over the phone, contact Administrative Computing at 610-341-5849.

Who are the contact people for Technology help at the Seminary?
There are several support staff to assist you with your technology needs. See the support staff page on this website.

What rules and policies govern the use of computer accounts?
The Use Policy governing all computer use at Palmer Seminary is the Eastern University\Palmer Theological Seminary Policy on Computing and Network Ethics. Please make sure that you have reviewed it. If you have questions, you may contact Philip Mugridge, Director of Academic Computing at 610-341-1721 or pmugridg@eastern.edu.

How do I get into the Student Computer Lab?
The combination to the door is posted on the door. You will need a computer account to access the computers.

How do I get a Blackboard account?
Your University login information allows you to login to Blackboard among other things. At the beginning of each semester, you will be automatically enrolled in the courses for which you are registered. For further Blackboard questions, contact the Blackboard Administrator at lwillia3@eastern.edu, call 484-384-2962, or visit the second floor office above the Library.

I need to use technology for a class presentation?
You may sign up to use a projector, laptop or camera in the Library.
Send an e-mail to the Educational Technologist (mkebaets@eastern.edu) or call 484-384-2968 if you need training on how to use the equipment. You can also contact the Educational Technologist on the second floor above the Library in the Faculty wing. The seminary does not lend out equipment for use off campus even if it is for class

Can I get Internet access in my Seminary apartment?
You can pick up the application form from the Academic Computing Office (484-384-2937 or semis@eastern.edu) in Room 210 opposite the the elevator (Palmer Hall).
